About the name of Yuya Rusu Saisai 由屋るる犀々

"Yuya Ruru Saisai" was opened in April 2008, making use of the long established Japanese ‘Kappo Ryokan割烹旅館’ (a restaurant with attached accommodation) named "Kiyokawa きよ川" which was once reputed in this place. "Kiyokawa" was loved by the citizens of Kanazawa with an established reputation for fine dining and refined entertainment. The technique of Japanese architecture was studded everywhere, which make visitors think ‘Truly Kanazawa’. As it is regrettable to leave the property closed, it has been renovated by adding facilities tailored to the lifestyle of modern people, while retaining the beauty of Japanese architecture that is the biggest attraction. This is ‘Yuya Rusu Saisai’.

"Yuya Ruru Saisai 由屋るる犀々" was made by combining three of Yuya, Rruru and Saisai.

Firstly, Yuya’s ‘Yu 由’ is taken from the founder's name. As the hotel stands by the river, guests can feel the flow of river. "Ru流" is a character which represents ‘flow’. However, Ruru does not simply refer to the flow of water, but the flow of the season, the flow of time and the flow of sound. Finally "Sai". The name of this river is called "Saikawa 犀川". In the past, Yuzen Nagashi 友禅流し (work to wash away glue attached in the coloring of Kaga Yuzen)" was seen in this river. Sai is from the name of this river, but in accordance with the sound overlaid with the letter "Ruru" in front, this also overlapped the sounds and made it "Saisai 犀々.
